Sometimes change isn’t a good thing!
If you have a favorite pizza place – or a favorite brand of frozen burritos – stick with it. Don’t experiment to see if you can find something you like better. Because when people switch things up, they end up eating more. That’s according to food scientists who found that if the new food we’re trying isn't as satisfying as our usual go-to choice, we tend to eat more overall than if we just stuck with what we already knew we liked. In the experiment, the scientists found that the study participants who ordered pizza from a different restaurant, ended up eating more junk food afterward than people who stuck with a pizza place they already knew they liked.
