If you’ve finished a prescription, do this before you throw the bottle away:

Remove the label… or scribble out your name and the prescription number with a Sharpie pen. Because medical identity thieves would LOVE to get their hands on your info… and get refills of your prescriptions - or use your medical information for their own needs, sticking you with the bill! That can also mess up your medical records - which could jeopardize your health, possibly putting your life at risk. So take 30 seconds to rip the label off your pill bottles and shred them before throwing them away.
