Buy chemical-free makeup
Parents of teenage girls – try to make sure the beauty products your daughter buys are chemical-free. A new study from UC Berkeley found that when girls switched to chemical-free products, after only three days, they had measurably lower levels of substances like phthalates, parabens, triclosan and oxybenzone. Those chemicals are commonly found in hair products, fragrances, soaps and sunscreens. And there’s evidence linking those chemicals to hormone-disruption, behavioral problems, obesity and cancer cell growth. Want to make sure a beauty product is chemical-free?
