Guidelines from the American Academy of Pediatrics say infants should sleep in the same room as their parents for at least the first 6 months of life! Because it can cut a baby’s risk of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome - or SIDS – in half! HOWEVER, don’t put the baby in bed with you, just put their crib or bassinet in your bedroom. Because 60% of infant deaths are linked to co-sleeping.

The American Academy of Pediatrics also recommends placing sleeping babies on their backs, on a firm surface, with a tight-fitted sheet, and without pillows, crib bumpers, or soft toys, to reduce their risk of accidental suffocation.
